Academic Programmer Manager
The Academic Programme Manager (APM)’s key responsibility is the implementation, smooth running, administration and ultimately successful delivery of all aspects of the Summer School Academic Programme. The role is a Senior Management position and as such the APM is expected to fulfill a demanding workload.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation and overall management of the academic programme, ensuring it is run to the highest standard to deliver student satisfaction
To manage the teaching staff to create a positive, enthusiastic team to deliver a high quality programme
To observe and appraise all teaching staff, providing support and guidance on all aspects of lesson preparation and delivery
To teach when required e.g. staff sickness
To organise and oversee the delivery of Trinity exams (if applicable at centre)
To lead the staff induction day
To organise and manage the placement and exit testing of students, academic timetabling, course planning, student questionnaire analysis and student certificate delivery
To organize Group Leader sessions (up to 3hrs per week), to provide information and guidance on teaching practices, update on student progress and act as problem solving sessions
To support the Centre Director in the overall running of the centre (you may be required to deputise in the absence of the CD)
To liaise with Head Office (HO) on maintaining academic staffing levels, including staff payroll details and rota
To liaise with the Recreational Programme Manager (RPM) to ensure that the activities programme and academic programme are integrated successfully
To ensure high levels of student safety and welfare are maintained and school rules are adhered to
To assist and support the centre management team in residential supervision duties, including meal supervision, bedtime supervision and additional welfare duties on a rota basis

Activity Leader
The Activity Leader (AL) is responsible for the smooth and successful delivery of the activities programme (co-ordinated by the Recreation Programme Manager (RPM)). The role of the AL is pivotal to the promotion and delivery of the activity programme, ensuring students are well motivated and all activities are run to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
To be enthusiastic and motivated in delivering the activity programme.
To ensure students attend the set activities and attendance records are accurate
To prepare and pack up each activity session, ensuring all equipment is returned and reporting any damage to the RPM
To play a pivotal role in guiding and organising students on excursions
To assist the Centre Director in opening and closing the centre, and accounting for the return of all equipment at the end of the course
To assist the RPM in maintaining student discipline, safety and welfare whilst on duty
To carry out residential duties on a rota basis, including meal supervision, lights out duties, room checks and additional duties as required
Applicants holding specialist qualifications will be required to undertake duties such as pool duties / sports coaching and first aid provision*

Centre Director
The Centre Director (CD)’s key responsibility is the smooth and efficient running of all aspects of the centre. The CD must ensure that communication channels are open between Head Office and all managers within their centre. The role is a Senior Management position and as such the CD is expected to take on and successfully handle a demanding workload which involves implementing, participating and monitoring all aspects of the Ardmore Summer School Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Create a strong and clear line of management, implementing effective procedures and working closely with the centre management team to deliver a successful summer programme.
To ensure high levels of student safety and welfare are maintained, school rules are adhered to, and be responsible for all aspects of student discipline.
Create an effective and positive staff team. To ensure that all staff are motivated and carry out their role and duties to a high standard.
To manage staff effectively to ensure;
- HO receives accurate and current data on student and staff numbers
- To ensure that the teaching and activity programmes are implemented effectively
- Centre administration and documentation is carried out efficiently
- Damages, equipment and resources are recorded and monitored throughout the course
- All serious incidents are dealt with and reported to HO
To assist and support the centre management team in residential supervision duties, including meal supervision, bedtime supervision and additional welfare duties on a rota basis.

EFL Teacher
The EFL Teacher’s key responsibility is the preparation, coordination and teaching of the academic programme. They report directly to the Academic Programme Manager (APM) and work with them closely to assist in the student testing, timetabling, progress monitoring and administration of EFL classes.
Key Responsibilities:
To teach English to a high standard, following the syllabus from Ardmore Language Schools workbooks and academic programme
To assist the APM in the testing of students and final assessments

Recreational Programme Manager
The Recreational Programme Manager (RPM)’s key responsibility is the implementation, smooth running, administration and ultimately successful delivery of all aspects of the Summer School Recreational Programme (day time activities, evening entertainment and excursions). The role is a Senior Management position and as such the RPM is expected to fulfill a demanding workload.
Key Responsibilities:
To plan and deliver a high quality activity and excursion programme. This will involve creating a highly motivated team of activity staff and promoting fun and enthusiasm between staff, group leader and students
To provide training and regularly observe all activity staff
To effectively plan and manage a day to day staff rota and ensure all activity staff are prepared and present at their activity sessions
To ensure activities and excursions are run according to Ardmore Language Schools procedures and rule
To liaise with Head Office (HO) on maintaining activity staffing levels, including staff payroll details and rota
To liaise with HO on activity material stock, centre hired items and return all unused stock

Welfare and Accommodation Manager
The Welfare and Accommodation Manager (WAM)’s key responsibility is the overall care for students; ensuring they are safe, secure, happy and disciplined. The WAM must supervise other staff in night duties from 10pm to 1am four nights a week. The role is a Senior Management position and as such the WAM is expected to fulfill a demanding workload.
Key Responsibilities:
To help set up the centre prior to student arrival, and assist with accommodation planning
To carry out pre-arrival and departure checks and damage surveys
To carry out a night duty on a rota basis (4 nights per week) and supervise other staff on duty.
To ensure students are in their rooms and lights are out by 11.00pm
To help the CD with student discipline within their residence, and liaise with management team to report all damage incidences and serious incidences
To provide integration support for students traveling as Individuals
To ensure the school fire and safety procedures are displayed and adhered to
Provide pastoral care by ensuring students are adjusting to cultural differences and that their religious and dietary needs are met and respected
Provide orientation meetings for new students, showing them to their accommodation and issuing ALS student ID cards prior to excursions
To deal quickly and efficiently with any complaints or issues relating to accommodation
To co-ordinate laundry within the residences
To ensure room lists are accurate and regular fire drills undertaken
To report maintenance issues to staff and ensure the cleanliness of the residences is maintained to the standards of the school

TEACHER
ESCORT MONITOR
Teacher - All Centres
Teachers will be reporting to the head teacher. The ideal candidate will have mother tongue English, hold a CELTYL (young learners) or CELTA or CTEFLA or TESOL and/or PGCE plus relevant experience.
Hardworking and innovative, teachers should be lively, enthusiastic, enjoy working with children/teenagers with a strong sense of responsibility and education. Lessons will place an emphasis on improving the oral skills of each student in addition to grammar and vocabulary work
Key Duties Include
EFL English teaching
Trinity Examination preparation (when required)
Supervision of Evening Entertainment (2 per week)
Supervision on Excursions
Occasional supervision of activities & excursions (optional)
Pastoral care of students

Escort Monitor - All Centres
Main role and responsibilities - to assist groups of international students on their excursions e.g. London, Oxford, Brighton etc. Monitors are expected to headcount the students, accompany them to the attractions and ensure that they return home on time to host family centre or college.
Must be hard working, enthusiastic, punctual and responsible - not easily flustered. Monitors are not expected to be professional guides BUT some knowledge of major sightseeing attractions, museums etc is expected.
Key duties include
Assisting with navigation of foreign coaches to arrive at destinations
Giving general information about museums, attractions to student groups
Ensuring groups arrive at museums on time for pre booked entrances
Liaising between group and Ardmore Head office
Overall supervision of excursions - assisting group leaders.
